- Are you stuck, failing to make progress or having problems with your horse?
- Do you feel frustrated, unsure of what to do next or even doubting whether you're doing the right thing in the first place?
- Or perhaps you have a youngster or new horse and just want to know how to 'do it right' this time?
At Holistic Equitation, our mission is to help people like you improve your skills and understanding, on the ground and under saddle, so you can make clear, consistent progress while riding and training your horse - whatever the level of your ambition.
All our methods and techniques are built on profound respect for horses themselves which means we can show you how to school your horse efficiently and effectively, even to the highest levels, while also developing an amazing relationship that lets both your spirits shine.
Riding Lessons and Intensives
Holistic Equitation's founders, Derek and Jo Clark, offer lessons based on tried and tested classical foundations either here at the centre or at your home base.
Lessons can address all aspects of riding and schooling horses according to your needs and wishes:
- Groundwork and lunging
- Work in-hand (including how to introduce the bit)
- Working on long reins
- Riding and training your horse
Derek is a former Olympic coach, an expert in applied sports psychology and a Licenced Teacher of Philippe Karl's School of Légèreté.
Jo, who is also an experienced rider and teacher, is a fully qualified equine podiatrist and independent saddle fitter.
Derek and Jo welcome nervous riders and senstive or 'problem' horses, though are equally comfortable working with all levels of rider on all types of horse.
