Holistic Equitation

Who can we help?

Here at The Holistic Equitation Centre, our mission is to help people who care what their horses think about the way they are kept, trained and ridden.

Do you identify with some of these statements?

  • I’m looking for a calm, knowledgeable, well-equipped and equine-friendly environment to keep my horse. I want my horse to live as part of a herd and enjoy a lifestyle that’s as natural as possible
  • It’s important to me that my horse gets plenty of good turnout but I also want a good quality stable to use when I want it and an indoor school for riding and training on those dark, wet, winter evenings
  • I’m looking for a yard where people understand about barefoot horses and the facilities needed for successful hoof conditioning
  • I’m looking for an instructor who will really help us develop rather than just shout at me or tell me I need to kick or beat my horse harder
  • I’m looking for people who understand how to help horses with mental, physical or behavioural difficulties
  • I’m really keen to learn and I want to see how far I can develop my riding and/or training skills
  • I want to compete but I also want my horse to enjoy a calm and healthy lifestyle
  • I’ve just bought my first horse and I’m running into problems
  • I used to ride as a teenager and I don’t have my own horse. I’d love to ride again but my memories of lessons put me off going back
  • I have confidence issues and haven’t found a solution that really works
  • I’m a complete novice and I want to get off to the best possible start
  • I’d love to learn to ride but I don’t have my own horse

Can we help you?

We can and we will if you want the best for your horse and are willing to invest in his or her care and schooling as well as your own learning and development.

Our only caveat is that owners and/or riders must take an active part in any work and learning their horses undertake with us. After all, we think it’s only fair to the horses and their riders that life after any starting, training or rehabilitation work we get involved with should go on afterwards in a fair, skilled and consistent manner.

So, now that you know a little more about the kinds of horses and people we help and the attitudes our clients need to ensure success, click here to learn more about what to expect.
